GCTE Directors of Diversity, Dr. James Hill and Dr. Brenda Logan

Diversity Objective: To increase and recognize the diversity of teachers and students in Georgia

I. Broaden diversity of GCTE

A. Increase the diversity in GCTE

B. Recognize existing diversity

C. Invite college students to serve in GCTE

II. To develop and implement a recruitment plan for underrepresented groups

A. Increase membership of underrepresented groups.

B. Highlight new and retired teachers in Council's publications

III. To achieve greater diversity in GCTE's programs

A. Establish teacher cadets

B. Offer scholarships

C. Recognize and award teachers

IV. To appoint a committee to develop policies and guidelines for the Council regarding diversity issues

A. Establish a traveling committee to visit schools that have high minority populations

B. Establish a task force to determine the needs of minority teachers and students
