Books for ‘Bama
Books for Bama is a drive for school supplies for those
students affected by the April 27, 2011 Tuscaloosa area tornadoes. We will
gladly accept all of the following supplies:
OUR IMMEDIATE NEED IS SCHOOL SUPPLIES; however, a long-term
goal is to restock all impacted students' and families' personal libraries. So,
we will gladly accept texts for all ages (YA novels, magazines, Bibles, books
for adults, alphabet books, etc.)
--Crayons
--Markers
--Construction Paper
--Coloring Books
--Safety scissors
--Hand sanitizer
--Paper Towels
--Kleenex
--Backpacks
--Pencils or Pens
--Notebooks
--Books (Children and Young Adult Novels)
--Anything else you can think of!
We will have two drop-off points in the Tuscaloosa area.
They will be at The Riverwalk/Manderson Landing on Jack Warner Parkway and at
Graves Hall on the UA campus. This will still be on Wednesday, May 4th from 2-6
pm.

We are also setting up an Amazon wish list account that will
send books and supplies directly to the Belser-Parton Literacy Center for those
of you who live out of state/out of the area. If you wish to send books via the Amazon wish list,

Make sure you pick the one from
Tuscaloosa if there is more than one.
As of April 30, we are planning to expand this to the
Jefferson County/Hale County areas as well. More information to come.
